# What is SWIFT GPI

SWIFT GPI (Global Payments Innovation) is the tracked, same-day, fee-transparent version of SWIFT cross-border payments, launched in 2017. About 95% of cross-border SWIFT volume now runs on GPI, which means almost every modern international wire has a UETR and is trackable end-to-end.
