Canada's Lynx system replaced the legacy LVTS in 2021 and provides a fully collateralised RTGS for CAD large-value payments. The Royal Bank of Canada, TD Bank, Scotiabank, BMO, and CIBC (the Big Five) maintain dominant domestic positions and serve as primary correspondents for CAD flows from the US, UK, and Caribbean. Canada's retail payment system uses Interac e-Transfer for domestic instant payments, increasingly integrated with cross-border remittance corridors.

FINTRAC (Financial Transactions and Reports Analysis Centre of Canada) requires Canadian banks to report international electronic funds transfers of CAD 10,000 or more. This is automatic reporting and does not restrict receipt of funds.
