The UAE's UAEFTS processes AED settlements in real time and is complemented by the Central Bank's AECB-led real-time retail payment system. Dubai and Abu Dhabi host major regional hubs of ENBD, FAB (First Abu Dhabi Bank), and ADCB, plus dozens of international banks servicing trade finance between Asia, Europe, and Africa. The AED is pegged to the USD, which simplifies exchange-rate risk for cross-border transactions routed through UAE correspondents.

The UAE uses IBAN (23 characters starting with AE). Provide the IBAN, the bank's SWIFT/BIC code, and the beneficiary's full name. The IBAN encodes the bank code and account number, so a separate account number is typically not required.
USD wires from Europe or the US arrive in 1–2 business days. AED wires from within the GCC region can settle same-day via UAEFTS. Local Islamic banking products may have specific settlement schedules aligned with Sharia-compliant finance requirements.
The UAE CBUAE requires reporting of cash transactions above AED 55,000 and cross-border wire transfers above AED 2 million. Banks apply enhanced due diligence for high-value transfers; providing clear payment purpose documentation speeds processing.
