Ohmyfin responde: What does RJCT status mean on my SWIFT payment?
A Ohmyfin responde abaixo. O conteúdo está em inglês.
RJCT (Rejected) means one of the banks in the chain has rejected the payment outright. The funds are being (or have been) returned to the sender minus correspondent-banking charges. The most common reasons are invalid IBAN/BIC, sanctions match, account closed, or insufficient information on the ordering customer (FATF Rule 16).
Every RJCT carries a reason code from the ISO 20022 ExternalReturnReason1Code list. Common ones: AC01 (account incorrect), AC04 (account closed), AC06 (account blocked), AM05 (duplicate), MS03 (reason not specified), FF01 (invalid file format), CUST (requested by customer), AGNT (requested by agent), SANC (sanctions hit).
Track the UETR on Ohmyfin to see the rejection reason code on the live status. Then ask the sender's bank for the full return message — it always names the rejecting bank and the reason.
Once the funds are returned, the sender can re-issue the payment with corrected details. Note that the original charges are usually not refunded.
