ANZ, Commonwealth Bank, NAB, and Westpac — the Big Four — dominate the domestic market and hold extensive correspondent relationships across the Asia-Pacific region, routing significant flows from Japan, China, and Southeast Asia through their Sydney and Melbourne hubs.

AUD wires from Europe or the US typically arrive in 2–3 business days. Time-zone differences between Australia and major financial centres mean same-day delivery requires very early dispatch. The NPP enables instant AUD transfers domestically but not for cross-border wires.
