Our Methodology

How Ohmyfin Organisation sources, verifies, and presents SWIFT GPI payment status data — including accuracy limitations, data freshness, independence statement, and how to request a correction.

What We Track

Ohmyfin tracks the live status of cross-border SWIFT international payments. The primary lookup identifier is the UETR (Unique End-to-end Transaction Reference) — a 36-character UUID v4 that is mandatory on every SWIFT cross-border customer credit transfer since November 2018. We also support lookup by MT103 Transaction Reference Number (TRN / field 20) and pacs.008 EndToEndId.

When a UETR is submitted, Ohmyfin returns the latest available status from the SWIFT GPI network: which bank holds the payment, the ISO status code (ACSP, ACSC, ACCC, RJCT, PDNG, CANC), value date, fees deducted at each hop, and the correspondent-bank routing chain where disclosed.

What Ohmyfin is NOT: Ohmyfin is a status-tracking service only. It cannot release, cancel, refund, accelerate or redirect a payment. Only the sending bank, receiving bank, or a correspondent bank in the payment chain can act on the payment itself.

Our Data Source

Ohmyfin Organisation LLC sources SWIFT GPI payment status data directly through Bottomline Transform Technologies, a licensed SWIFT-connected service bureau. As a direct client of Bottomline Transform Technologies, Ohmyfin queries live SWIFT GPI status on behalf of users who submit a UETR.

Independence: Bottomline Transform Technologies has no ownership stake in, contractual relationship with, or commercial agreement with Ohmyfin Organisation LLC beyond standard service bureau licensing. Ohmyfin is completely editorially and operationally independent.

Accuracy and Limitations

We are committed to accuracy and transparency. The following limitations apply to all payment status data returned by Ohmyfin:

Fraud warning: Ohmyfin never asks for your bank login credentials, card number, account number, one-time passcode, or any payment to "release" funds. If someone presents you with an Ohmyfin screenshot as proof of payment and asks you to release goods or services — exercise caution and verify directly with your bank before acting.

Data Freshness

Status data is retrieved from Bottomline Transform Technologies in real time when a UETR is submitted. In-progress statuses are periodically refreshed; terminal statuses (ACCC, RJCT, CANC) are considered final and do not change once confirmed.
