Founding Story
Ohmyfin was founded in 2023 by Y.J. Shinwari after a personal experience with a cross-border payment that went missing for six weeks between correspondent banks, with no visibility and no way for the sender to check the payment's progress without calling the bank daily.
That experience exposed a gap that affects millions of businesses and individuals every year: once a SWIFT wire leaves the sending bank, the originator has almost no way to independently verify where it is. Y.J. built Ohmyfin to close that gap — a free, independent status lookup that any individual can use without logging into their bank.
Prior to founding Ohmyfin, Y.J. spent over a decade in financial technology, including senior roles in payment infrastructure covering SWIFT, SEPA, and Faster Payments networks.
