Venmo Payment Tracker — Status Guide (US Only)

Venmo is a US-only peer-to-peer payment app owned by PayPal. There is no public tracker and no cross-border / SWIFT element. Status is shown inside the app under "You" → tap the payment.

Venmo transaction IDs are 19 digits, visible in the in-app receipt and in the email Venmo sends after each payment.

What each status means

CompletedRecipient has the funds in their Venmo balance instantly.
PendingRecipient hasn't accepted yet (typically because they don't have Venmo set up).
CancelledSender cancelled or pending payment expired.
Failed / HeldVenmo declined or held for review — usually fraud rule trigger, frozen account, or unverified high-value transfer.

How do I see my Venmo transaction ID?
