Frequently asked questions
What does ACSP mean in a SWIFT payment?
ACSP (AcceptedSettlementInProcess) means the payment has been accepted and settlement is in progress at the current bank. The funds are in transit but have not yet reached the beneficiary. This is the most common in-flight status for a SWIFT GPI payment.
What does RJCT mean in a SWIFT payment?
RJCT (Rejected) means the payment was refused by a bank in the chain. The rejection always comes with a reason code (e.g. AC01 for invalid account, AG01 for transaction forbidden, RR04 for regulatory reasons). The sending bank should receive an MT199 or pacs.002 message explaining the reason.
What is the difference between ACSC and ACCC?
ACSC (AcceptedSettlementCompleted) means funds have been settled at the receiving bank but not yet credited to the beneficiary account. ACCC (AcceptedCreditSettlementCompleted) means the funds have actually been credited to the beneficiary's account — this is the final success status.
What does ACWP mean in a SWIFT GPI update?
ACWP (AcceptedWithoutPosting) means the receiving bank has accepted the payment but has not yet posted it to the beneficiary account, typically because of a cut-off time or a pending compliance check. The funds are with the bank but not yet available to the beneficiary.
