I'm the beneficiary and my SWIFT payment hasn't arrived — what do I do?

First, ask the sender for the 36-character UETR. Track it on Ohmyfin to see exactly where in the chain the payment is. If it's stuck at an intermediary, ask the sender to file an enquiry. If it shows ACSC/ACCC (credited) but you don't see it, ask your own bank to investigate by UETR — the credit may be sitting in a suspense account.

Details

As the beneficiary you have less direct control than the sender, but you can still drive the investigation. Step 1: get the UETR from the sender — even by phone or screenshot is fine.

Step 2: paste it into the Ohmyfin tracker. You will see live status: in progress at a named correspondent bank, credited at your bank, rejected, or held for compliance.

Step 3: if status shows the payment was credited (ACSC / ACCC) but you don't see it in your account, your bank has received the funds but hasn't applied them yet — usually because of a missing IBAN match, a suspense account, or compliance review. Call your bank and quote the UETR — they can locate the credit immediately.

Step 4: if status shows the payment is stuck at an intermediary, send the screenshot to the sender and ask them to push their bank to file a free MT199 enquiry to the bank holding the funds.

Step 5: if rejected (RJCT), the funds are being returned to the sender — coordinate with the sender to resend with corrected details.
