MXN settles domestically via SPEI. Cross-border MXN uses SWIFT MT103 through BBVA Mexico, Banamex (Citi) or Santander Mexico.

On a SWIFT MT103, the MXN amount appears in field 32A together with the value date. The currency code is part of the ISO 4217 standard, so "MXN" means the same thing in every bank in the world.
